Emotional eating can be defined as eating behaviors that relieve unpleasant emotions, such as stress, boredom, loneliness, anxiety, and grief.

Emotional eating is a pervasive struggle among men and women, yet is widely misunderstood. I know it all too well.

Before I began coaching, writing was my primary way to help others. I started a blog where I unapologetically shared my struggles with disordered eating. My writing helped others feel safe to share their own experiences. Not long after, I took my lessons from my emotional eating struggles and incorporated them into blogs for the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

"Heather is a truly gifted health and wellness writer. She has a talent for taking complex material and making it not only relatable but actually compelling! There is a lot of formulaic web content out there on health and wellness. Heather's work stands out from the rest for its intelligence and thoughtfulness. Her writing has a personal, engaging quality that keeps you hooked. Speaking as a wellness and healthcare writer myself, I can say confidently that I've not come across any writers in this field more skilled than Heather."
